My name is Jay Waterman. I was the second-generation owner of Duro-Sense Corporation. We specialize in the manufacture of high-quality temperature sensors. It was a family-owned company from its founding in 1979 to its sale in 2025. My initial goal was to keep the company in the family, but no one in my family was interested in taking it over. I came to the realization that if I wanted the company to continue, I would have to sell.
I had quite a bit of trepidation when I came to the sale. Choosing the right partner was my top priority. I wanted to ensure that our clients, our team, and our hard work were left in good standing, and the legacy we built would continue after the sale.
From the moment I met the partners at LDR, I had a good feeling. They treated me with respect, listened to my concerns, and worked with me to meet the expectations I had for the company. They took the time to learn about the history of the company, its strengths and weaknesses, and the goals we set and challenges we faced. They assured me they would work with me to meet all of the requirements I laid out and when it was all said and done, they made me an offer I felt was fair and equitable.
Throughout the entire acquisition process communication was open and clear and expectations were laid out well in advance. The entire process was smooth, efficient and respectful, and they honored every commitment they made during the negotiations.
In the past year, since the acquisition, I have been impressed by how they supported our team and our clients. They kept their promise to maintain the high standards we established. I am proud of what we built at Duro-Sense Corporation, and I am grateful that LDR is the team carrying it forward. I recommend them without reservation to any business owner considering an acquisition.
